Avebury Tour with Sig Lonegren
On Sunday 13th April, the renowned geomancer, Sig Lonegren, led a TVD party around Avebury. Americans use the term ‘divining’, a description Sig felt was appropriate for this powerful sacred site. We began at The Sanctuary, which he likened to an ovary, snaking its ‘fallopian tube’ towards the ‘womb’ of the Henge. Employing the same fertility imagery, he also had an interesting take on the meaning of the word ‘Kennet’. Next, we travelled to the Henge and learned of the deliberate destruction of the standing stones before the conservation work undertaken by the 'Marmalade Millionaire'. Alexander Keiller. Sig demonstrated how an energy centre on a particular stone [see photo] caused imbalance, a phenomena experienced by a number of members. After lunch, we explored the West Kennet Long Barrow from where we’d a fine view of Silbury Hill, whose commanding presence was visible from every location we’d visited. The group was delighted with the expert guidance and insights which Sig provided for us on this field trip.
