Glastonbury

On the weekend of 16th-17th May, a 20-strong group from the Thames Valley Dowsers enjoyed a weekend field trip to Glastonbury, led by Sig Lonegren. Sig, who lives in Glastonbury with his wife Karin, a psychic healer, shared with us his considerable knowledge of the history, 'her-story' and 'mythtery' of the area.

The weekend opened with an exploration of the Tercentennial Labyrinth, designed by Sig (see www.geomancy.org) and installed by the community in St John’s churchyard in the High Street. We learned how to walk this traditional 7-fold labyrinth in meditation in order to use it as a tool for problem solving and spiritual enquiry.

This was followed by a trip around the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey. Legends abound about this site, which some claim was established by Joseph of Arimethea and to have the bodies of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere buried within its walls.

In the evening, after a shared supper in a local hostelry, Sig presented slides on “British Sacred Sites” and “How to interpret messages from animals, plants and stones” to gain insight and wisdom. We also learned how to draw a labyrinth from a 'seed pattern'.
