A visit was made to Stonor Park in the Chilterns near Henley on Thames on Sunday
11 May. Here we investigated an ancient stone circle under the expert
guidance of Geoff Crockford and Nigel Hughes. As well as dowsing the expected water
lines that concentrate at such sites, our leaders on the day instructed us on how
to identify genuinely ancient stones by their magnetic alignments and to distinguish
these from any later additions. We were also reminded of the importance of employing
the colour wheel and ‘witnesses’ to refine our dowsing responses. We are grateful
to the Stonor estate for permitting us access for what proved to be a very rewarding
afternoon.
